Tutti a Napoli chiamano l'Istituto Francese "il Grenoble" dal nome del palazzo che lo ospita. Il documentario racconta la sua storia attraverso due dei suoi "attori", il Console Generale di Francia a Napoli, che è anche il Direttore dell'Istituto, e il custode che vive e lavora nel palazzo da tanti anni. Emerge un ritratto di un luogo inusuale, una sintesi creativa dell'efficienza organizzativa francese e della generosa improvvisazione napoletana.
Everyone in Naples calls the French Institute ‘The Grenoble’ after the name of the Palazzo which houses it. The documentary tells its story through two of its ‘actors’, the Consul General of France in Naples, who is also the Institute’s Director, and the caretaker who has been living and working in the Palazzo for many years. A portrait emerges of an unusual place, a creative synthesis of French organizational efficiency and of generous Neapolitan improvisation.
